The intern Elisa Scardoni has just come back from a training experience in Czech Republic, to which she could participate thanks to the support of Network Projects Office where she is doing her Civil Service.

The training was attended by 25 youth workers from Italy, Czech Republic, Croatia, Cyprus and Hungary. The aim was to improve their personal leadership skills, in particular those that are useful when in working with young people: being able to inspire and motivate, having a clear mission and objectives, being able to lead a team.
The tool used? An actual “shock therapy” based on three days of expedition in the cold and snowy valley of Rychlebské, backpacking, sleeping in tents and sleeping bags in the woods.
The only landmarks were a map that had to be read with a compass, the stages to be reached and the tests to be overcome by putting into play teamworking and determination.

Elisa, in addition to unexpected survival skills, comes back with new competences and methods useful for leading youth groups and managing with non-formal education activities, a fundamental approach for youth policies in town.
