Alessandro, a Civil Service trainee in our office, is finally back from Latvia after taking part in the training course "Make it Happen" held by two experienced youth workers from the organization "Radi Vidi Pats" in Liepaja.
There were 26 participants in the project, together with several local activists, coming from Italy, Latvia, Slovakia, Greece, Romania and Finland.
The main objective of the project is to provide young youth workers, future educators or teachers with a wide choice and analysis of methodologies and principles of non-formal education through the exchange of good practices and, at the same time, to show different local realities through the meeting with members and volunteers serving in the Youth Centers of Liepaja, some run by the municipality such as Youth House or other NGOs such as House of Hope.
None of the proposed activities was followed by a formal explanation of the goals, but there is always an evaluation and a comparison of ideas among the participants, and this made it a unique opportunity for personal and emotional growth.
In addition to an expertise full of experiences to propose during our future projects, Alessandro comes back with a great determination to make a difference.
It’s the perfect time to "Make it Happen".
