From April 27 to April 1, 2023, the Learning Activity of the European project Cityful - Empowering youth workers to engange young people, NEETs and drop-outs through the 3rd Sector in the EU" took place in Chiavenna.
The project, co-funded by the European Commission through the Erasmus+ program, aims to produce a game that allows European NEETs and Drop-outs (young people who have dropped out of school) to familiarize themselves with the Third Sector as a possible world of professional and personal growth. During this course the young people were helped by Youth workers.
During the Learning Activity in Chiavenna, the participants, involved by the project partners (Co-action-France,Trokut-Croatia and Municipality of Cinisello Balsamo-Italy), tested the game in order to give feedback to the project partner Itinerari Paralleli for the implementation of the game.
The activities were divided into three parts: in the first part of the game, teams were created with participants of different nationalities so that various realities could be connected.
The game offered four different challenges on social issues (crime, poverty, pollution, homeless people). Each group chose its own challenge and then began to brainstorm a possible solution by choosing on the game map the partners with which they wanted to collaborate.
In the second part of the game, each group had to test the game in real life by actually going downtown Chiavenna to talk to and interview the partners selected in the first phase. In this way each group was able to connect with the local community.
In the third and final part of the game there was a time of discussion in which each group presented the result of the research and the possible solution to the problem.
During the course of the game, Youth Workers from each partner country together with Itinerari Paralleli held working sessions to define how to continue the work on the production of a Youth worker guide, the second project outcome.
