On the 14th of February, the staff from the Youth Policies Office met two representatives of the European Internship Consortia from Turkey, Arhan Akarlar and Omer Ongun, to lay the foundations for future collaborations between the two realities.
The Consortium, whose activities are funded by the Erasmus+ programme, gathers Universities, organizations and foundations of Istanbul, with the aim of offering internship opportunities to students, in an international and intercultural perspective.
Thanks to the network that unifies Cinisello Balsamo and some Turkish associations, the members of the Consortium got to know our projects, and said that they were very interested in the possibility of inserting youngsters into them. An important occasion to contribute in the development of their competences, and to bring an added value to activities on the territory.
The first part of the meeting with Arhan and Omer was held at the Eurodesk office, and it was useful to share goals and strategies, to analyse the projects and the ways in which it is possible to insert the students. The two guests also visited the Cultural Centre Il Pertini that amazed them, indeed they defined it an “avantgarde place”.
We transferred the meeting to Villa Forno, the next opening of the first coworking space in Cinisello Balsamo. In these headquarters Arhan and Omer could talk with representatives from the Internationalization Office of Milano-Bicocca University, partner in the coworking project.
In the next months the partnership terms will be defined and we will keep you updated!
