Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 9:30 to 12.30, was held the itinerant artistic workshop CRX - Color Regeneration X (for) the block, organized by the Municipality of Cinisello Balsamo in the Crocetta district. The event is one of the actions foreseen by the European project U.R.Impact: Prioritizing Social Impact in Urban Regeneration (financed by the European programme URBACT IV), of which the Agency is the lead. U.R. Impact aims to work on the creation of indicators for the evaluation of the social impact of urban regeneration initiatives and involves a partnership of 10 European cities.

The Municipality of Cinisello Balsamo has been working since 2023 on the Crocetta district with the aim of overcoming barriers that make it difficult to integrate and develop a cohesion within the area. In the context of this project, the Municipality proposed a workshop (which took place between Largo Milano, House of Citizenship and the Center for Aggregation Elderly) aimed at promoting some services active in the neighborhood Crocetta (respectively: parish activities, Radio in the neighborhood, Fuori Pertini), on the other hand to involve citizens through street art. Important was the collaboration with the artist and writer from Bologna Hazkj who, together with the citizens, gave color to the neighborhood.

The title of the action “CRX” is inspired by local slang.The acronym CR, in fact, is often used to identify the Crocetta district, and has been traced both on graffiti and in the names of emerging rappers. The X refers to the concept that the inhabitants themselves create something for (for) their neighbourhood. Through collectivity and colour, the neighbourhood comes to life in a sinuous movement inspired by that of the snake, conceived in a positive sense, as a symbol closely linked to continuity and regeneration.
