On 30 May and 18 June 2024, the URBACT Local Group (ULG) of U.R. Impact met again to discuss the project at the Casa della Cittadinanza in Cinisello Balsamo. Co-funded by the URBACT IV European programme, the U.R. Impact project brings together ten European cities in partnership and has the Municipality of Cinisello Balsamo, the project leader, as its point of reference.
U.R.Impact, which aims to assess the social impact of territorial policies on inhabitants, goes hand in hand with Entangled - the urban regeneration project worth 15 million euro that with material and immaterial actions will affect the same neighbourhood, Crocetta. Actions aimed at improving not only buildings and services, but also creating new social links by breaking down the barriers that historically tend to separate the area from the rest of the municipality.
During the ’Dinner in Crocetta’ at the previous meeting (link), the working group, composed of local stakeholders, had imagined the future of the Crocetta neighbourhood through the ’Newspaper of Tomorrow’ tool. Many developments emerged from UGL’s collaboration: projects and workshops, sharing spaces for different targets, accommodation activities and parks to fully experience the neighbourhood.
During the meetings in Crocetta on 30 May and 18 June, the various working groups continued their work by testing a new tool: "The Theory of Change". The model allows one to propose hypothetical solutions to a problem in an attempt to predict what the outputs (the immediate results of actions), the outcomes (the effects in the medium to long term) and the impact on the affected area might be.
