On April 23, the first dinner of the URBACT Local Group (ULG) of the European project U.R. Impact took place, with the Municipality of Cinisello Balsamo as the lead partner.
After the launch of U.R. Impact with numerous study visits to partner cities across Europe in recent months, on April 23, 2024, the first "Cena in Crocetta" took place at the Casa di Cittadinanza. This was an important occasion to delve into the key themes and objectives of the U.R. Impact and Entangled project interventions. The participants in the event make up the URBACT Local Group (ULG), a working group composed of local stakeholders in Cinisello Balsamo, including representatives from schools, community centers, sports organizations, parishes, and the third sector (cooperatives and associations).
U.R. Impact is a project co-financed by the European URBACT IV program, involving ten cities, with the Municipality of Cinisello Balsamo as the lead partner. The goal is to develop an Integrated Action Plan to assess the social impact of urban regeneration programs on the territory. Among these projects is Entangled, which involves both material and immaterial actions in the Crocetta neighborhood. Prioritizing social impact allows for rethinking urban regeneration actions by placing citizens and their social, economic, and environmental well-being at the center of the processes, as well as enhancing a sense of belonging and civic participation. It was during the Cena in Crocetta that participants had the opportunity to engage in a workshop, conducted using non-formal education methodologies.
In the first phase, through digital brainstorming activities, participants were invited to define their work, the positive aspects, and the contributions they can make personally within a project using key words. The second phase of the workshop, titled "Newspaper of Tomorrow," involved creating a hypothetical front page of a newspaper published in 2028, covering news about the Municipality of Cinisello Balsamo. Participants, divided into groups, imagined possible developments in six areas: environment, elderly people, youth, children and families, leisure time, sports, and culture. Among the proposals were activities in the neighborhood, shared spaces for different target groups, hospitality activities, and parks. A lively neighborhood, reinvented with the contribution of its citizens.
