On Wednesday October 28 the final event of the project "Europa in Comune" took place online. The aim was to promote the good practice of the Structured Dialogue between young people from Lombard territories and administrators on issues of European interest.
The project has been promoted and financed within the European program Erasmus+Key Action 3 and was and managed by the Municipality of Sarezzo (leader) and the Municipality of Cinisello Balsamo (partner).
The final event, which unfortunately could only take place online, was aimed at the presentation of projects carried out by young people from the municipalities of the 6 provinces involved (Lecco, Mantova, Pavia, Brescia, Varese and Milan).
The intervention of Lucia Abbinante – Director of the National Agency for Youth – opened the meeting, recalling the importance of the involvement of administrators in projects concerning youth policies.
This was followed by the presentation of projects by young people who participated and facilitated the path. Among these, we presented the path of Universal Civil Service carried out at our Europe Office, Calls and Fundraising , illustrating the national and European projects, the activities of Eurodesk and the link with Youth Policies.
Space was given also to the two Solidarity Projects born thanks to the collaboration between our service and the young people of the territory: the Ladysoccer project that is giving life to a girls’ soccer school, and the LEAF project that, through playful moments of well-being but also of training, will deal with the theme of ecology for children and young people in difficulty.
Also intervened:
- Ramon G. Magi, president of Eurodesk Italy and editorial director of Dodo - Magazine for Youth Policies, who exposed the structure of the magazine emphasizing the possibility for free access.
- Enrico Elefante, trainer of the Trainers Pool of the Council of Europe - Youth Department, who made an overview of youth participation at European level, underlining the Youth Goals as starting points to guide youth policies; he also exposed the principles of the participatory approach, based on non-formal education, youth associations and other forms of active citizenship such as the forum and the councils and finally, on the bottom-up and top-down structure.
The event concluded with thanks to all the young people and administrators who participated in the project, with particular attention to the volunteers of the Forum of Sarezzo and the Civil Service of Cinisello Balsamo who helped to organize and facilitate the meetings through non-formal education activities.
