On 6 October 2022 took place the national event of the Volem project. The project is part of the Erasmus+ programme funded by the European Commission.
On this occasion, we met the volunteers of the Civil Service who started their project in May 2022 and will finish it in the same month of 2023.
During the meeting we presented all the final outputs of the project and tested some of these outputs with them.
The youngsters were able to look through Intellectual Output 1, which is a booklet with the results of a survey among actual volunteers, former volunteers, tutors and employees of hosting organisations. The production of this tool was done between 2019 and 2020 and inside you can find testimonies and discover similarities and differences of volunteering in different European countries.
Then, we showed the students the second output, a toolbox for promoting volunteering. This toolbox is aimed at host organisations and the youngsters themselves, and includes a useful guide to introduce what is meant by volunteering, the various divisions of volunteering and why it is important to do such an experience, the main purpose being to make them learn that at the end of the course, all volunteers acquire skills that can be used in the working environment. The toolbox also contains two pedagogical games centred on the same theme and a graphic kit useful for promoting volunteering.
The third output is an Open Badge, which can be downloaded digitally. This is aimed at volunteers, who can certify the skills they have acquired during their career by attaching the downloaded document to their CV or inserting the link in their Linkedin profile.
During the event, all the young people were very interested in the topic and were excited about the idea of being able to certify skills acquired.
