ReeFab

Project name with brief description of the overall objective: Reefab

REEFAB aims to promote active citizenship, youth initiative and entrepreneurship, including in the social sphere. The project supports combating climate change through environmentally favorable activities.

Duration, program and funding (Cerv or Erasmus+) and partnership:

This is a three-year project that started in 2024 and will last until 2026, and has received funding from the Erasmus+ - KA220 Youth Project program.

The partnership consists of the lead institution Centre de Culture Scientifique Cap Sciences (France), and partners IAAC (Barcelona), City of Cinisello Balsamo, and Art Square (Luxembourg).

Specific objectives:

- Encourage youth initiative, active citizenship and peer collaboration through activities within Fab Labs.
- Transform Fab Labs into resource centers for ecological transition targeting youth.
- Demonstrate that action, ’do-it-yourself’ can be a method to counter eco-anxiety.
- Co-involve young people in local communities and discover future industries in relation to environmental challenges.

Planned activities:

The following activities will be developed between 2024 and 2025:

- 6 online and in-person transnational meetings to monitor the progress of the project
- Kick off meeting and Study Visit in Barcelona (IAAC) to define the objectives of the project
- Local co-involvement of young people aged 15 to 25 to carry out visits to local Fab Labs
- Collection of testimonies for the creation of an atlas on ecological transition on a national and European scale.
Learning activity in Cinisello Balsamo: collective experimentation and mobility of young people from partner countries.
- Final conference in Bordeaux for public presentation of results.

Final products:

- Creating a Project Manifesto.
- Creation of an Atlas of testimonies and inspirations for Fab Labs and a Guide to accompany Fab Labs to the ecological transition
- Creation of a project website
- Dissemination of project results in FabLabs in each partner country.
