Smart Youth Center

Name and description of the project: S.M.A.R.T. YOUTH CENTER (Supporting Mobility Activities Running through Tech) is a project that aims to create opportunities for the development of Digital Youth Work (DYW) and digital skills of youth workers, with a focus on building inclusive activities for young people.
Duration, programme, funding (Cerv or Erasmus+) and partnership: It is a strategic partnership project financed by the Erasmus+ programme, running over 24 months, from November 2021 to November 2023.
Project leader is I.R.T.E.A. (Institute of Research & Training on European Affairs), based in Athens, while partners are: the Municipality of Cinisello Balsamo, Italy; Zavod Mladinska Mreza ’Mama’, Slovenia; the association Change Your Life Now – CYLN, Greece; the ’Amicus Certus’ association, Lithuania; Dypall Network (Associação para o Desenvolvimento da Participação Cidada), Portugal; the association Keks Stodforening, Sweden; BOLT Virtual Services and Productions.
Specific objectives:
- Digital skills development: to support and provide opportunities in which youth workers can develop their digital skills..
- Promoting innovative approaches to learning: providing opportunities to create and use alternative tools to continue educating and training young people.
- Making learning opportunities inclusive: promoting learning materials and tools that can be accessed by all for free (Open Educational Resources).
- Promoting progress in digitalisation: improving ICT infrastructure and digitalisation in youth centres.
Project Activities:
- Kick off meeting in Greece.
- An online training on digital tools;
- The development of a Virtual Reality Platform for the implementation of Digital Activities for Youth Workers.
- The creation of a Digital Toolbox for educators and youth workers as a "learning reservoir".
- Application of digital activies.
- Evaluation of online training on digital MOOC tools and evaluation of living reality platform for implementation of Digital Activities for Youth Workers in Slovenia.
- Evaluation of the application of digital activities and evaluation of the Digital Toolbox in Italy.
- Multiplier Event (1 for partner).
Final project products:
- MOOCs: a Mass Open Online Courses (MOOC) for youth workers, which will be made available on the CEREBRUM platform.
- VR environment: a virtual reality platform for the realisation of digital activities for youth workers.
- Pilot Application: participants will implement their activities on the VR platform pilot app.
- Digital Toolbox: collection of tools, methods and techniques useful for educators, trainers and youth workers in an easily accessible and free "learning mine".

Final Meeting SMART Youth Center project
From the 13 to the 16 November the final meeting for the SMART Youth Center project, financied by the Key Action 2 of the Erasmus+ Program, took place in Cinisello Balsamo.
