TEENs in the lead
è un progetto Erasmus+ KA154, che si pone come obiettivo la partecipazione come cittadini attivi, soprattutto da parte di un pubblico giovane (16-29).
Il progetto è volto all’apprendimento del funzionamento dell’Unione Europea, in termini di affari e organizzazione interna.

Il progetto ha una durata totale di 24 mesi e coinvolge 5 partner di 5 paesi diversi;

Obiettivi specifici del progetto
Quest’attività mira a fornire conoscenze ai ragazzi per poter capire meglio il funzionamento dell’Unione Europea. L’attività è volta a formare i giovani partecipanti come cittadini attivi ed impegnati.
Attività di progetto
Il progetto prevede una prima fase di presentazione e introduzione ai temi che verranno sviluppati, con attività dedicate ai partner e a un gruppo di 20 partecipanti. I giovani seguiranno inoltre un corso MOOC sulla piattaforma Cerberum.gr per prepararsi alle attività pratiche. Il percorso proseguirà con un evento internazionale ad Atene, il Teens Youth Activation Event (5 giorni), e si concluderà con una visita alle istituzioni e alle organizzazioni dell’Unione Europea a Bruxelles (4 giorni).
Prodotto finale
raccogliere materiale audio-visivo (foto, video, interviste ai partecipanti…)
creare linee studio/linee guida sugli argomenti trattati durante lo scambio
e regole di precedura per la metodologia della simulazione;
definire un report basato sull’implementazione di ogni fase delle attività (incluse le opinioni dei vari partecipanti, ciascun partner deve contribuire);
fornire materiale webinar per la formazione dello stesso gruppo target.

L’europa per i giovani – Evento conclusivo per i volontari del Servizio Civile Universale
Il 15 maggio 2025 si è svolto, in collaborazione con Europe Direct Lombardia, l’evento Teens in the Lead: l’Europa per i giovani che è stata l’occasione per salutare i volontari del Servizio Civile Universale che stanno per finire il loro periodo di servizio al Comune di Cinisello Balsamo e per dare il benvenuto ai nuovi volontari che inizieranno presto il loro percorso.
L’evento, ospitato presso il Centro Culturale Il Pertini, è iniziato con un momento di condivisione tra i volontari. I ragazzi che stanno per concludere il loro servizio hanno avuto l’opportunità di condividere consigli e suggerimenti con i nuovi volontari, mentre questi ultimi hanno potuto esprimere paure e aspettative riguardo all’esperienza che stanno per intraprendere.
Successivamente abbiamo introdotto ai giovani tutte le opportunità europee che Eurodesk offre e ascoltato le testimonianze di due ragazze che hanno preso parte a queste opportunità.
Dopo questo momento di condivisione, Europe Direct Lombardia ha presentato la propria realtà e ha introdotto il workshop sul fenomeno della disinformazione analizzando dagli elementi che si possono trovare nella comunicazione e nel contesto giornalistico.
Per comprenderne meglio i meccanismi, divisi in quattro gruppi, i partecipanti sono stati invitati a scrivere una notizia che potesse essere vera o falsa, con l’obiettivo di renderla il più credibile possibile agli occhi degli altri gruppi. Al termine dell’attività, ogni gruppo ha presentato la propria notizia, sfidando gli altri partecipanti a distinguere tra fatti reali e fake news.
È stata un’attività molto stimolante, che ha permesso ai giovani di mettersi nei panni di chi crea contenuti informativi e di sviluppare un pensiero critico verso ciò che si legge o si ascolta ogni giorno.
La mattinata si è conclusa con un pranzo condiviso, che ha offerto l’opportunità di proseguire la discussione in modo più informale.
Nella seconda parte della giornata hanno preso parola Matteo Longoni, responsabile dei volontari, e l’Assessora alla Cultura e Identità, Eventi, Sport, Politiche giovanili e Pari Opportunità, Daniela Maggi, che hanno che hanno espresso il loro apprezzamento per l’impegno e la partecipazione attiva dei volontari durante l’anno.
A seguire hanno preso parola gli OLP dei ragazzi presenti, ringraziando i volontari per il loro entusiasmo e dedizione, e concludendo l’incontro con la consegna degli attestati di partecipazione.
L’evento ha rappresentato non solo un momento di riconoscimento per il lavoro svolto dai volontari, ma anche un’occasione di formazione e riflessione sul ruolo dei giovani nella società, in particolare per quanto riguarda la loro responsabilità nel contrastare la disinformazione e nel promuovere una comunicazione consapevole.

Giovani protagonisti contro la disinformazione
Il 15 maggio 2025, nell’ambito del progetto “Teens in the Lead” e in occasione della giornata dell’Europa, si è svolto a Cinisello Balsamo l’evento che ha coinvolto 35 giovani volontari, organizzato in collaborazione con Eurodesk Cinisello Balsamo ed Europe Direct Lombardia.
Dopo una breve presentazione del servizio Eurodesk e delle opportunità europee che offre ai giovani, i partecipanti, con la guida di Europe Direct Lombardia, hanno avuto l’opportunità di riflettere sul tema della disinformazione giovanile, uno dei problemi più urgenti e diffusi nel panorama mediatico odierno.
Per iniziare, Europe Direct Lombardia ci ha illustrato il funzionamento del loro centro e ci hanno raccontato le iniziative che portano avanti per avvicinare i cittadini alle tematiche legate all’Unione Europea.
Attraverso dibattiti stimolanti e attività pratiche, i giovani hanno esplorato come nella comunicazione – e in particolare nel giornalismo – possano insinuarsi elementi di disinformazione, rendendo difficile distinguere tra notizie vere e false.
Abbiamo riflettuto su quanto sia facile manipolare un messaggio e su come le notizie, se non verificate correttamente, possano risultare fuorvianti o addirittura false.
La giornata è stata molto stimolante, ha permesso ai giovani di mettersi nei panni di chi crea contenuti informativi e di sviluppare un pensiero critico verso ciò che leggiamo o ascoltiamo ogni giorno.

Evento internazionale Atene
Dal 13 al 17 novembre si è tenuta la prima parte del progetto Teens in the lead, ad Atene.
I ragazzi hanno avuto la possibilità di lavorare insieme e creare nuovi legami.
Nel primo giorno l’attenzione è stata tutta sul lavoro di squadra e sul rompere il ghiaccio. Attraverso attività di team building, giochi cooperativi e momenti di confronto informale, i partecipanti hanno potuto conoscersi in un clima rilassato e accogliente. Queste iniziative hanno contribuito a creare fiducia nel gruppo, ad abbattere le prime barriere e a far sì che tutti si sentissero liberi di esprimersi e prendere parte alle sessioni successive.
Il secondo giorno è stato dedicato a una simulazione parlamentare. I partecipanti hanno potuto mettersi nei panni di decisori, discutendo temi reali e lavorando insieme per trovare soluzioni condivise. Riproducendo il funzionamento di un parlamento, hanno imparato come operano i processi democratici, come si negozia e come si costruisce un consenso. Un’esperienza che ha rafforzato anche le loro capacità comunicative e il senso di responsabilità come cittadini attivi.
Nel terzo giorno, il lavoro si è spostato in gruppi più piccoli, dove sono state elaborate idee concrete e proposte pratiche per affrontare le principali sfide che riguardano i giovani. I laboratori hanno incoraggiato la collaborazione, il pensiero critico e la creatività. Ogni gruppo ha unito competenze e punti di vista diversi per dar forma a proposte chiare, in linea con i propri valori e la propria visione del futuro.
In tutti e tre i giorni è rimasto centrale l’approccio non formale, che ha permesso ai partecipanti di coinvolgersi in modo spontaneo, imparare gli uni dagli altri ed esplorare diverse modalità di cooperazione senza la pressione di valutazioni rigide.
Accanto alle attività strutturate, il programma ha offerto anche l’occasione di costruire un vero senso di comunità. I partecipanti hanno condiviso storie personali, scambiato esperienze culturali e stretto nuove amicizie. Scoprendo tradizioni, lingue e prospettive diverse, hanno arricchito il proprio bagaglio e rafforzato la comprensione reciproca.

Project Description
TEENs in the Lead
is an Erasmus+ KA154 project aimed at promoting active citizenship participation, especially among young people aged 16–29.
The project focuses on learning about how the European Union works, in terms of its affairs and internal organization.

- Specific Objectives of the Project
This activity aims to provide knowledge to young people so they can better understand how the European Union works. The initiative seeks to train young participants to become active and engaged citizens.
Project Activities
The project includes an initial phase of presentation and introduction to the topics that will be developed, with activities dedicated to partners and a group of 20 participants.
Young people will also attend a MOOC course on the Cerberum.gr platform to prepare for the practical activities.
The programme will continue with an international event in Athens, the Teens Youth Activation Event (5 days), and will conclude with a visit to European Union institutions and organizations in Brussels (4 days).
Final Product
collect audio-visual material (photos, videos, interviews with participants…);
create study guidelines/guidelines on the topics addressed during the exchange and procedural rules for the simulation methodology;
draft a report based on the implementation of each phase of the activities (including participants’ opinions; each partner must contribute);
provide webinar materials for training the same target group.

Europe for Young People – Final Event for Universal Civil Service Volunteers
On 15 May 2025, in collaboration with Europe Direct Lombardia, the event Teens in the Lead: Europe for Young People took place. It was an opportunity to say goodbye to the Universal Civil Service volunteers who are about to complete their service period at the Municipality of Cinisello Balsamo and to welcome the new volunteers who will soon begin their journey.
The event, hosted at the Il Pertini Cultural Centre, began with a sharing session among the volunteers. Those who were about to complete their service had the opportunity to share advice and suggestions with the new volunteers, while the newcomers were able to express their fears and expectations regarding the experience they were about to undertake.
We then introduced the young participants to all the European opportunities offered by Eurodesk and listened to the testimonies of two young women who had taken part in these opportunities.
After this moment of sharing, Europe Direct Lombardia presented its organization and introduced a workshop on the phenomenon of disinformation, analysing elements that can be found in communication and in the journalistic context.
To better understand the mechanisms behind it, participants were divided into four groups and invited to write a news story that could be either true or false, with the aim of making it as credible as possible in the eyes of the other groups. At the end of the activity, each group presented its news story, challenging the others to distinguish between real facts and fake news.
It was a very stimulating activity, allowing young people to put themselves in the shoes of those who create information content and to develop critical thinking towards what they read or hear every day.
The morning concluded with a shared lunch, offering the opportunity to continue the discussion in a more informal way.
In the second part of the day, Matteo Longoni, volunteer coordinator, and the Councillor for Culture and Identity, Events, Sport, Youth Policies and Equal Opportunities, Daniela Maggi, spoke and expressed their appreciation for the commitment and active participation of the volunteers throughout the year.
This was followed by speeches from the volunteers’ OLPs, who thanked them for their enthusiasm and dedication, concluding the meeting with the presentation of participation certificates.
The event represented not only a moment of recognition for the work carried out by the volunteers, but also an opportunity for training and reflection on the role of young people in society, particularly regarding their responsibility in combating disinformation and promoting conscious communication.

Young People as Protagonists Against Disinformation
On 15 May 2025, as part of the project “Teens in the Lead” and on the occasion of Europe Day, an event was held in Cinisello Balsamo involving 35 young volunteers, organized in collaboration with Eurodesk Cinisello Balsamo and Europe Direct Lombardia.
After a brief presentation of the Eurodesk service and the European opportunities it offers to young people, participants, guided by Europe Direct Lombardia, had the opportunity to reflect on the issue of youth disinformation, one of the most urgent and widespread problems in today’s media landscape.
To begin, Europe Direct Lombardia illustrated how their centre operates and described the initiatives they carry out to bring citizens closer to European Union–related topics.
Through stimulating debates and practical activities, the young people explored how elements of disinformation can creep into communication – particularly in journalism – making it difficult to distinguish between true and false news.
We reflected on how easy it is to manipulate a message and how news, if not properly verified, can be misleading or even false.
The day was highly engaging and allowed young participants to step into the shoes of content creators and develop critical thinking towards what we read or hear every day.

International Event – Athens
From 13 to 17 November, the first part of the project Teens in the Lead took place in Athens.
The young participants had the opportunity to work together and build new connections.
On the first day, the focus was entirely on teamwork and ice-breaking activities. Through team-building exercises, cooperative games, and informal discussion moments, participants were able to get to know each other in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. These initiatives helped build trust within the group, break down initial barriers, and ensure that everyone felt free to express themselves and actively participate in the following sessions.
The second day was dedicated to a parliamentary simulation. Participants stepped into the role of decision-makers, discussing real issues and working together to find shared solutions. By replicating how a parliament functions, they learned how democratic processes operate, how negotiation works, and how consensus is built. This experience also strengthened their communication skills and their sense of responsibility as active citizens.
On the third day, work shifted to smaller groups, where concrete ideas and practical proposals were developed to address the main challenges affecting young people. The workshops encouraged collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity. Each group combined different skills and perspectives to shape clear proposals aligned with their values and vision for the future.
Throughout all three days, the non-formal approach remained central, allowing participants to engage spontaneously, learn from one another, and explore different ways of cooperating without the pressure of rigid evaluations.
Alongside the structured activities, the programme also offered opportunities to build a real sense of community. Participants shared personal stories, exchanged cultural experiences, and formed new friendships. By discovering different traditions, languages, and perspectives, they enriched their personal growth and strengthened mutual understanding.
