From june 2nd to 5th, we were in Porto (Portugal) for an international meeting as part of the Youth Monitor project. On this occasion, we had the opportunity to take part in the project’s final conference, which brought together institutional representatives and youth workers from various European countries.
On the first working day, together with all project partners, we focused on preparing the presentations and activities planned for the June 4th conference. It was a moment of intense collaboration, useful for coordinating content and refining the interventions.
We also had the opportunity to preview the Youth Monitor website, a platform that collects data, surveys, and analyses on youth policies and youth conditions, with an initial focus on the Municipality of Cinisello Balsamo.
The following day, we attended the project’s final conference, centered on youth work and youth policies. It opened with a presentation by the Metropolitan Area of Porto, which shared its strategies and initiatives aimed at young people. Afterwards, political and technical representatives from the Municipality of Cinisello Balsamo, the Diputació of Barcelona, and the Municipality of Râmnicu Sărat presented their respective youth action plans, offering interesting insights and diverse approaches.
In the afternoon, the event continued with several thematic workshops, where participants split into groups to discuss the spaces and activities that each organization offers to young people in their local areas. It was a constructive moment of exchange, useful for reflecting on the role of youth workers and on shared practices at the European level.
