In our territory, there are many experiences, skills, and initiatives that often go unnoticed.
Through the ReeFab project, we had the chance to visit three organizations working in the fields of social impact and sustainability.
These are places where tools, objects, and materials can have a second life – not just to create new things, but, in the case of ScArti, to give them a deeper meaning.
We started with ScArti, which was created with a clear goal: to offer a space for anyone with an educational role, where they can find materials and objects for their activities.
ScArti has since become a center for rebuilding social bonds through creativity.
The educators told us how challenging it can be to work with older people, mainly because they struggle to move away from fixed ideas. On the other hand, working with children is often easier – they naturally bring up thoughts, topics, and reflections with an unexpectedly deep meaning.
The mix of pedagogy, creativity, and sustainability makes this project a window into the endless possibilities hidden in what we already have.
The second reality is PUF, a space for those who are looking to improve or change their home.
It was created from the desire to give, share, and offer new life to things.
It’s a service that allows anyone to find objects, tools, furniture, and anything else that can make daily living easier.
Today, they’re also working on creating activities to share small moments of everyday life.
Puf also offers a “object’s library” where everyone can borrow what they need – in this place we can give both objects and a new possibilities
Ultimately, we have the “ciclofficina” – a space for every bike lover.
Here, people spontaneously fix bikes together. There are no clients or mechanics, just people helping each other.
It’s a great example of sustainability: they promote reuse, reduce waste, and encourage green mobility. For them, bikes are tools for freedom, inclusion, and urban change.
If these activities made you curious and you want to be part of something bigger, PUF and the ciclofficina are always looking for volunteers ready to get involved.
