From 10 to 17 October, the ’Rethink 2.0’ project took place, bringing young people from countries such as: Greece, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Romania and Italy to a cultural exchange in Chania, Crete.
The project, inspired by the great success of the initial ‘Rethink’ project, was based on climate change and the importance of adopting sustainable dynamics and actions to safeguard the planet, through interactive activities, team-building activities, Non-formal workshops and much more!
The project’s mission was to involve the younger generation in promoting a better world, as the climate crisis also has a profound impact on the mental well-being and social fabric of European citizens, a subject very dear to the new generation.
We asked the guys to send us their feedback, these were their experiences:
ELENA, 24
’Rethink was one of the best activities of my life. We talked about sustainability, which is a topic that interests me, but it wasn’t just about that. This week has allowed me to make connections with new amazing people, Italian and non-Italian. It has allowed me to learn about new cultures and languages. I hope it is the first of many other projects’’.

“The week in Chania with Erasmus+ was a memorable experience that will remain in my heart. I thought I was just going to learn more about zero waste and sustainability, but I came back with so much more than I expected. I met people from all over Europe and with some of them I shared moments I’ll never forget. I had deep and interesting conversations with people who have a beautiful outlook on life.
I also had the opportunity to test my English skills : even though I’m not great at speaking, I now feel a bit more confident. The activities we did were really enjoyable and helped us connect on a deeper level, creating real bonds, not just surface-level connections.I would recommend this kind of experience to everyone: it broadens your horizons, lets you learn about new cultures, and helps you overcome those prejudices that sometimes hold us back from new or different things. The people I met were amazing and they’re the reason I’m coming home so happy and grateful for this experience!”

"The Erasmus+ experience in Crete with the Rethink project was very engaging and fun.
I learned a lot about recycling and zero waste and had the opportunity to meet new people from various European countries.
Being away with a group of strangers made me a little out of the comfort zone and allowed to create new connections.
Finally, the island of Crete is amazing and having found summer temperatures in October makes me want to go back there as soon as possible."

"The REthink 2.0 project was my first Erasmus project, I started without expectations but with a great desire to learn and put myself in play. The experience was unique, I met people from all over Europe, I learned a lot about their cultures thanks to intercultural evenings, and I had a world of fun organizing the Italian one with my compatriots. The program was very well structured, there were both learning activities on the theme of zero waste but also many free and playful moments. I really enjoyed Jo’s teaching method, especially her energizers to start the day and all the team building activities. I would like to thank you for being a good leader with always an eye for everyone, any problem she was there to help us. Finally I loved the city, the camping, especially the really adorable gentlemen of the canteen and my Italian companions with whom I have made a beautiful friendship. I can’t wait to participate in another project, to relive unique moments and create so many new memories to take to the heart.

"As for my personal experience in participating in the Erasmus+ Rethink 2.0 project, I can say that I have known people, places and fantastic experiences that are quite conscious.
It was not a simple journey, it is as if I had rediscovered myself, my values, my thinking, my qualities and everything that makes me feel good.
For 7 days I felt the thrill of living in a small, but large family.
All culturally different, but united under one purpose… it was revived.
I thank with all my heart who offered me the opportunity to experience a magic like this, I will never forget.

"Hi my name is Riccardo and I participated in the Erasmus+ project Rethink2.0 with the Eurodesk office. Thanks to them I had the opportunity to make an experience that I will always remember, namely that of being able to meet new people and to be able to learn and transmit to other people the awareness of how important is the sustainability of our environment for To preserve the places we cherish. One of the activities I liked the most was to collect the waste at sea because we put ourselves in play to try to remove as much as possible. I would recommend this experience to everyone because you can meet new people from other countries and have the opportunity to compare similar and different customs with other nationalities. It’s the beautiful thing that each person has his own story to tell. I will always take care of this beautiful memory and if I have the chance, I will make others."
