Volem is a project whose theme is volunteering.
Volunteering activities are not only a way to help the local community but can be a successful strategy to solve the problem of youth unemployment, a great challenge for Europe.
The VOLEM (VOLunteering for EMployability) project funded by the ERASMUS + Program, aims to strengthen the recognition of the key competences acquired by young people during volunteering activities, enhancing their impact both on local development and on their entry into the labour market. The project is part of a European collaboration between the Municipality of Cinisello Balsamo, UAESS-CAP SOLIDAIRE (Non-profit organization, France) and ART SQUARE (Association, Luxembourg).
The project will involve more than 200 young people and is divided into three phases which will be divided over the three years.
- Phase one: Creating questionnaires and evaluating best practices
- Step Two: Promotion of skills toolkits
- Phase three: Creation of the curriculum platform and skills acquired
During the project exchanges, meetings and training will be organized to allow a wider exchange of ideas among young people.
The goal is to create an innovative tool to give value to the skills acquired during voluntary activities in the local area.
At the end of the project, scheduled for 2021, actions will be developed to disseminate this tool for public institutions, municipalities, stakeholders and volunteers!
